Cryogenic nitrogen deflashing is used to remove unwanted residual mold flash from newly molded or cast rubber and plastic parts. This die cast deflashing method utilizes cryogenic temperatures that cause the flash to become stiff or brittle and to break away cleanly, even from oddly shaped parts.
The use of cryogenic temperatures allows for precise removal of flash from materials including silicone, plastic, polymers, elastomers, rubber and aluminum die castings, all without degrading the parts or harming the finish. It is suitable for rubbers of various durometers and parts that have been injection molded, extrusion molded, or compression molded.
